MY REVIEW:
I was waiting for this book for so long, especially after that tidbit we got at the end of Stealing Summer.
After Zoey, Dev & Danny are separated from their family and placed on a plane where none of them know how to get off.
Well when they finally get off the plane and are back where they think is home all hell has broken loose. They are not ready for what they come back to and let me say I’m not ready either.
Everything has changed, its twelve years later and the place that they once called home is no longer theirs. Their kids have grown up, and friends have also fled the place they once called home. They are also horrified to know that some of their friends have perished thanks to the snake Myrddin.
Utter and total destruction has taken place in the time they were gone and they are trying to learn on the go while figuring out how to get back to where they were before they left or taking back what is theirs.
Zoey’s children have all grown up and to say she is shell shocked is putting it lightly. She missed so much time with her children, time that she can’t get back. She’s trying to find a way back to when her children were young that she doesn’t think about getting to know them as they are now.
Zoey absolutely drove me crazy through this, and I don’t know why I didn’t expect that she drove me crazy in all if her previous books too. She kept trying to focus on getting back to where they were that she ending up pushing her kids away and they started to resent her.

She wasn’t listening to them and seeing that although they would have loved to have her they survived and became stronger because they knew she was coming back to them one day.
She was trying so hard she missed the adults with their own personalities that her kids became. And how strong and competent they now were. It took almost to the end for her to realize that she was messing up and needed to be there for the children as they were now and she couldn’t go back because this was the way things were suppose to happen.
And Lee’s storyline just got a whole lot more interesting and I am so here for it. I can’t wait to see where this goes from here. The kids are definitely going to take over.
Now that Daniel is back it’s time to fight and get his crown back by whatever means necessary and it’s the children that will be the one to take Myrddin down if the prophecies are correct.
They have a long road ahead to get to where they need to be to take Myrddin down but I can’t wait to see the story unravel, I have so many questions as to where some of the people are and what’s going to happen. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see how this story plays out.
