This is a best friends sister romance, which is also a favorite of mines. What can I say I love angsty books.

Audri and Remi seem to have always had a crush on each other but they were young and never acted it on it. But now there back in each other’s lives after years and can’t deny what’s between them.

Even though Remi tries really hard to. Remi is now Audri’s new boss and they have to be near each other.

Both Remi and Audri have a lot of past trauma that have shaped them into the people that they are. And as per usual Remi thinks he’s not good enough for Audri. But he doesn’t realize that he’s exactly what she needs.

“You don’t know how often I’ve dwelled in the dark, Remi. I’m familiar with it more than you know. You might think a rainbow follows me, but in truth, I’m chasing the rainbow. Most people are. I want to believe in magic, angels, fairies—all the beautiful things that destroy the dark. I believe there’s something outside of fear, pain, and guilt. Otherwise, life isn’t worth living, right?”

Audri has tried to live her life as best as she could with the guilt that weighs her down and she does a pretty good job of it.

And Remi is trying to live the best that he can with the things that have shaped him. Little do they realize that they both need the other to heal.

And when they come together and find the peace that they’ve both desperately needed. I really enjoyed watching Remi and Audri fall for each other and find what they need in the other to help them make the decisions to help them move forward with their lives.

They were good for each other and I loved watching them spend time with each other and really get to know each other. I was happy when they got together and how they made each other better.

I cant wait to see the rest of the story unfold, because some of it was revealed but there definitely more to the story. I did see some of it coming but I definitely did not expect it to unfold the way that it did with all the characters.

Definitely want to read the next book in this series.
