MY REVIEW
***I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.***
This is a very captivating book, it kept me wanting to read the whole way through.
I enjoyed the characters and the secondary characters. And I enjoyed the characters together.
Both of the characters are secretly in love with one another but have been to afraid to tell each other the truth.
There are other factors that stop them from being honest with each other, like the fact that the Hero’s best friend is the heroines brother.
But on drunken night changes everything.
Then Atticus thinks that Tessa is trying to investigate him but he’s so wrong.
“If there is a way to exploit something, humans will do it. Even doctors. I’ve seen purposefully misdiagnosed patients to get bigger payouts. I used to get off on those kinds of cases, making them pay, but now…it’s exhausting.”
Finally Atticus and Tessa are thrown back together and they end up becoming friends with benefits.
Finally they end up confronting each other.
I enjoyed the storyline and its one of my favorite tropes but it just seemed a bit rushed to me.
I feel like I didn’t get to know the characters the way I should have to really fall in love with them like I should have. And before I knew it the book was done.
More depth would have been great to really get into the story.
Overall it was a good book and I did enjoy it, and would recommend.
