MY REVIEW:

This second chance romance takes place 7 years after Logan and Aster have broken up. Logan wins Aster in a bet and things are never the same. Logan and Aster loved each other with and all encompassing love that was shattered in one night.

Flash forward after all the mistakes and regret they are thrown together and Aster finally decides that she wants something else out of the life she was forced to live.

“I take care of what’s mine.” He repeated what he’d said last night, the words a seductive threat that would ruin me if I let them.”

Now Logan is in control of the situation and he has so much pent up anger and h@te for Aster but at the same time, he once loved this girl with his whole being.

And Aster never stopped loving Logan but could never be with him because of the way things turned out on that one faithful night.

“I wondered if I’d willingly set myself a trap. If it really were a mistake after all because I was pretty sure the only thing I was doing was providing him with the ammunition to destroy.”

Now she’s stuck on a path that she’s not sure will turn out well for either one of them.

“But how could I stop it when he touched me that way? When he held me that way? When he looked at me as if I were a treasure?”

But she couldn’t stop herself. Logan was her first love and there were so many unresolved feelings.

“He towered behind me in the doorway of the bathroom, the man staring at me through the mirror where I faced away. He wore the same expression I needed to hide from. Feral, savage possession. Bridled violence to be unleashed at any moment.”

This was one of my favorite tropes, second chance romance. I really enjoyed this book and the angst I felt from both characters. I also enjoyed the way they both love each other with everything in them.

Logan met her eyes. “I would die for you, Aster Rose.”

“My North Star. My direction. My heart’s destination.”

“And you, Aster Rose, are the only gift I want. My Little Star. Even if I can’t see you, I’ll know you’re there, and I’ll find my way to you.”

“I love you, Logan Lawson. I love you. I am yours. Today, tomorrow, and yesterday. Forever. I’m yours.”

“I’m yours, Aster. F**king yours, and I’m always going to be, and I won’t stop until that truth is your peace.”

This is a really slow burn story so be prepared for that, I am a fan of slow burns but this one takes it to the next level. That turned me a way from the book a little because things were taking so long to happen. I want to say I was close to 70% in the book when things started to happen. This was the only down side for me about this book. 

Other than that it was an amazing story, with amazing characters and I loved the bits and pieces of the past thrown in so that we could really get to know Aster and Logan.

Overall love the character and their story! I loved seeing Aster and Logan find their way to each other and work through the past and finally get everything out in the open.
