MY REVIEW

I am an absolute sucker for second chance romances, so I didn’t hesitate to get this book when I read the chapters that give you a tease.

I started reading this expecting a lot but it just didn’t hit the way I thought it would have.

This was a super slow burn and although I have no issue with that I felt like most of the story was told in the past and not much about the people they are now was shown.

Besides the fact that they still cared about each other. I would have like to see them grow and develop more of a relationship. But it feels like they just developed a relationship from what they had previously.

And although this wasn’t bad I just didn’t feel the chemistry between the characters.

I enjoyed the premise of the story but just didn’t connect the way I would have liked to this book didn’t really pull me into the characters world, I found myself trying to finish the book vs getting immersed in it.

I enjoy Jami and Violet they were best friends forever and were torn apart and haven’t seen each other in 7 years. It was clear there was something that broke up their friendship.

And this usually a trope I love because it’s so angsty. But there was not that much angsty, no push and pull of the characters. This one just wasn’t for me.

One other thing I didn’t love was that Jami spent no time at all with Violet’s son, there was absolutely no connection or I didn’t feel the connection between them.
