MY REVIEW:

*** I received an advance review copy for my honest review. ***

What can I say about this book? When I started to read this I thought the main character Mira was really childish and immature. Everything she did was to be against the Hero Lucien.

Like she literally followed him through school, med school, his residency and this cardio internship. And none of it sounded like she actually did it because she enjoyed being a doctor.

This book was so focused on bringing each other down with their hateful banter that there wasn’t much character descriptions. I honestly still don’t really know what they look like.

And then the back and forth with the main characters was extremely annoying and childish. I was so ready to put this book down and not finish it. Idk if the author was thinking the back and forth would come off as sexy or what but it sure missed the mark.

One of the reasons I kept reading was because I saw reviews that said that it got better and it somewhat did. So Mira starts to change and try to be better and then Lucien starts being mean. I was like wtf is going on here.

Another reason was everyone kept hyping up one of the spicy scene and although it was good (which is the only reason it got 2 stars) it still was lacking for me and this could have been because I didn’t really enjoy the characters so it maybe that’s why I didn’t love it as much.

Finally the characters kiss and start to act a little bit more like adults like high school or younger kids. And there is less bashing as the book moves forward.

But then the parents of both main characters are toxic and that adds another layer to the book.

Then the details weren’t matching up for me and this really throws me off when it comes to books. I don’t mind so much if there are mistakes but to completely get some parts of the story wrong, like where Mira’s mom had surgery and the time frame that the characters have know each other. This one really annoyed me, I was like wait am I missing something?

They story says they met when they were 16 and have know each other for 16 years but they’re both 34. shouldn’t they have know each other for 18 years then?

And I know this isn’t a huge deal but it was this added in with everything else just wasn’t the one for me, I don’t think I’ll read this author again.
