MY REVIEW:
Sally’s been around the shadowlands for a long time now and she’s been a trainee for a long time. But we don’t really know much about her besides the fact that she’s sassy and a handful.
Sally’s been put through the wringer lately, she was in a relationship that kind of sucked and left the shadowlands because of said relationship.
Now she’s finally back in the place that use to bring her so much joy, yet she can’t seem to find that same joy anymore. She doesn’t know what’s wrong with her.
Galen and Vance try to co-top Sally in hopes of getting a better understanding of why she behaves the way she does and also why she seems so down and not like herself at all.
She flees, why should she open up to Dom’s that are not even hers? Who do they think they are anyways? Maybe the shadowlands isn’t her safe place anymore.
Sally’s attacked by her Ex-Dom, ugh can she catch a break? And guess who decides to show up? The feds – as she lovingly calls them. Sally is humiliated to be in this situation, even though it’s not her fault.
The feds decided to take Sally only and help her out, of course they don’t she’s hacked in the organization that targeted her friends.
‘The moon’s glow was a blanket over the lake until a breeze broke it into choppy fragments. Like life—smooth sailing, then rough water. Excitement and disaster, then calm seas. “She’s more vulnerable than we figured.”
“They hadn’t realized the barrier to openness was because damage had been done. Helping a wounded soul wasn’t a short-term obligation. “She trusts us.”
Sally was playing a very dangerous game and the agents have to figure out how to handle that.
Not to mention she has a whole lot of issues from her childhood that she holds deep inside and doesn’t like to talk about.
I love Sally’s playful nature and her personality. Slowly she is able to find her way back to being herself. And Sally starts to open up.
“Poor guys. They’d had no idea of the consequences of letting her stay here. Then again, they were apparently like the other Shadowlands Masters. Tears didn’t bother them. At her attempt to apologize, Galen had snorted and said she had a few years stored up. “Get it out, pet.” Funny how comfortable she’d felt crying all over them. Sure, a little embarrassed that she couldn’t stop, but they hadn’t made her feel worthless or stupid. They’d acted as if they expected her to cry, and so it was okay when she did. Scary guys. Annoying too.”
Vance and Galen are the perfect mix of dark and light. Both men fill in where the other comes up short.
Vance is quick to laugh and enjoy the simple things, even though he’s been an agent for a long time, he can still see the good in things and wants more with Sally.
Galen on the other hand is a bit darker, he’s not only been an agent for a long time but he’s also been through some horrific things and it has made him jaded. He didn’t want to fall for the imp, he just wanted to help her.
Galen and Vance are so patient and understanding with Sally. It’s really sweet. They help her open up and be able to ask for help. They also show Sally that she can depend on them.
Sally brightens up both Galen and Vance’s life with mischief and pranks and her bright personality.

WOULD I RECOMMEND:
Yes! This is another addition to a great series by Ms. Sinclair. She has become one of my favorite authors!
I love her character development and they way she pairs characters, not on what they may think they want, but what they really need in a partners or in this case partners.
I really enjoyed the relationship with Sally and Galen and Vance. But I also enjoyed seeing the friendship and brotherhood between Galen and Vance.
I haven’t read that many menage books and I haven’t loved all of them but this was definitely one I really liked.
