MY REVIEW:
I read the prequel for this before I even knew about this story and I was hooked right away.
I knew I needed more. But it broke my heart when Lucy’s brother was hit by a drunken driver.
This story takes place 7 years after the prequel I read and Ben and Lucy haven’t had any contact with one another.
They have both been hurting for the last 7 years. Both of them didn’t have anyone to talk to about it either so they were pretty much all alone.
And let’s just say their lives are not where they want it to be, they have both just fell into their careers and forgot about the kids they were and the dreams they had.
This is a very slow burn story where the author takes her time and writes about each character. If you love slow burns this one is for you.
It took me a little while to get into because it was moving just a tiny bit too slow for me.

But this was such a sweet story about two friends finding a way to reconnect with one another and building a relationship.
Ben and Lucy find a way to be what the other needs to heal and move forward with their lives. They’ve both been stuck and needed something to push them form and they helped each other.
This in turn helped Lucy’s family to move forward, after seeing Lucy do it. Seeing the family heal and move forward was so good to watch they were all just living in a daze for all those years.
This was such a sweet heartfelt, funny story. Oh and I loved the fact that it took place in the 80’s just gave me such a nostalgic feeling.
I would definitely recommend this book. For all the retro lovers out there if your looking for a 80’s vibe story this is the one for you!
