MY REVIEW:

Dungeon Royale takes place in England and starts off exactly where the previous book ended with Damon being betrayed by his long time partner.

Damon Knight has always been loyal to his country and team, no matter the situation. So he cant believe that he is doubled crossed by someone he trusted.

While struggling to breathe all he can think about is Penelope Cash, a translator that works with him.

Somehow Damon survives and vows revenge.

Penelope Cash hasn’t always had it easy, taking care of an ailing parent on her own. She let everything go by the way side.

“You don’t date. When Diana and I offered to watch mum so you could go out, you always turned us down. You don’t go out with friends.”

Taking care of her mother didn’t really leave time for a social life. Now her mom is gone and all she has is work. But her brother is determined to make sure she doesn’t drift away from the family.

The book takes us to Damon’s recovery and going back into the office, after all work is all he knows.

Damon needs Penelope for an important assignment, since it will determine if he can come back to work at all. But first he has to convince her that it’s the right decision.

“She’s scared out of her mind, Nige, and I rather think it isn’t about taking a bullet.  She’s not stupid. She knows I’ll keep her safe. So that makes me wonder what really frightens her. I think she’s a prudish chit and she’s worried I’ll get her knickers off.

Did you ever stop to wonder if perhaps I’m simply not interested in even pretending to sleep with you?

No. not once.

Maybe I don’t like men, Mr. Knight.

Oh, you like men, love. And you like me. Why do you think I got so close to you? Why do you think I slid my thumb over your pulse? Because I needed to know how I affected your heart rate. I needed to see how your eyes dilated the minute I touched you. And I definitely wanted to know if I could get a whiff of arousal coming from between your thighs.”

Penelope’s attracted to Damon but she’s afraid. Because she’s so attracted to him and doesn’t want to get hurt. She’s completely out of his league.

Finally he convinces her to go on this mission with him and pretend to be his submissive. Damon’s been a Dom for years so he has no trouble with the roles.

Damon trains Penny to be his submissive while giving her more pleasure than she’s ever felt before.

Penelope and Damon prepare to go on a mission that takes them around Europe on a cruise. Luckily they have McKay-Taggart as their backup.

We get a visit from Ian, Charlotte, a grumpy Jake, Jesse, Simon and Chelsea.

This mission takes them all over Europe looking for Damon’s ex-partner and nemesis. The mission gets dangerous and they have to take a new character. Which I look forward to seeing more of in the future. 

This is an amazing book, I love anything Lexi Blake writes.

Damon is deeply flawed and use to being alone and only depending on himself. He lost his family at a young age and never really recovered from being that lonely boy. He thinks he’s too messed up for Penny. He’s strong, loyal and alpha all the way. Too bad he’s never been able to trust anyone enough to let them in. Penny threatens his composure and upsets his equilibrium so he pushes her away time and time again.

Penny has always been shy and somewhat of a pushover. Letting her family take advantage of her kindness. Always taking care of the people around her but it’s never really reciprocated. Damon shows her what is feels like to be cared for, loved and really satisfied. How can she let that go? She cant Penny finds her back bone and decides to fight for her man.

WOULD I RECOMMEND:

I would definitely recommend this book, giving it five stars! Lexi Blake hasn’t disappointed me yet with a book. I love everything that I have read so far.

Ms. Blake has a great way of developing her characters and this book was no different Penelope went from a shy, quiet girl to a woman willing to fight for her happiness.

And Damon went from completely closed off and unapproachable to opening up to Penny. 

I cant wait for the next book in this series.
