MY REVIEW:

Amy Slaten was in Cherished, she was pretty boss there so I was looking forward to her story. She took over her dad’s company at her wedding in a pretty bold move.

I really liked her take charge attitude and the fact that she was the CEO of a company. She’s strong, independent and has Bridget for a sister. She’s also sweet, funny, a bit awkward and a little bit of a nerd.

“Damn, but he liked a funny girl. He’d always liked the weird ones, the slightly nerdy awkward goddess ones did him in time and time again.”

I like that Flynn was able to notice Amy’s quirks right away and that it called to him.

“Because you’re the first woman to move me in a very long time and I want to know if that’s real or something I made up in my head because I’m lonely.”

Flynn is the brother of Mitch, which we got his story in Adored. Flynn has just reconnected with his brother and loves the relationship that they are building.

He is now in charge of the family company, Slaten industries is his enemy as far as he knows and he wants to take down the company.

In the meantime, he also is learning a bit about Sanctum and training classes from his brother.

But guess who walks in and becomes his partner, non other than Amy Slaten. The two are paired up and start to connect as training partners. And begin to learn about D/s together.

“Yep. She’d called it the anti-rubbing-one-out rule. “I thought the play was over.”

Amy falls for Flynn right away and I can’t say that Flynn doesn’t fall for her pretty quickly too.  She’s not at all what he expected or what he thought she would be.

“Let me off the leash, Amy. Tell me we’re playing. Our contract allows all manner of play. Let me take control.”

He can’t get her off his mind and he wants her all the time. How can she be so ruthless when it comes to business but different outside the boardroom.

When things blow up as they usually do Amy has to figure out who she can trust and who really has her back.

“He was her knight in a pocket protector. He was here to save her. She knew it suddenly. It was right there in his eyes.”

Flynn also has to figure out if everything he’s found out before about Amy was all lies. He has to figure out what he really wants out of the situation and go for it.

WOULD I RECOMMEND:

Gonna be a yes for me on this one. Ms. Blake writes amazing characters, which great back stories.

She doesn’t just say someone is heart broken or doesn’t trust she gives you the story so you know exactly how the person was hurt.

This is great because it really helps me understand the characters and see them develop throughout the story. Character development is such a big deal for me.

And this story does not disappoint, these are two people that have really been through some stuff and found something in one another. Something they didn’t think they would find because of their pasts and the relationships in their lives.

I love how Ms. Blake can make people like this come together and build something worth fighting for.
