So lets start with this is a super steamy romance and I was here for it. Usually when there is a lot of spicy scenes in a book it can take away from the plot or story line but not in this one! I was pleasantly surprised and happy!

Cade and Rayne have been long time friends, they met when they were really young thanks to Cade being her brothers Beau’s best friend.

Beau bets Cade that he can’t have sex with the same woman for one month, because Cade is a bit of a manwhore. If Cade wins, Beau and Cade will open the restaurant that Cade’s always wanted.

But whose going to be the lucky lady to have all of Cade’s attention? Rayne decides to offer herself up, she needs to learn about sex since all of her previous relationships lacked good sex.

Now she thinks this is a great idea because she’s known Cade almost all her life and there’s no way she could fall for him right? And Cade’s not the type to fall for anyone because he likes variety and a whole lot of sex. Surely there’s no one woman that can handle all of his needs. 

Cade turns Rayne down right away and she assumes its because of her weight, now she’s come to love her body but we all have insecurities. So she storms out and doesn’t even give Cade a chance to explain.

Later that night Cade shows up at her house and let me tell you that scene was so hot!! 🥵 I was like ok I see where this author is going with this book and I am loving it!!! Whew! Now Cade likes to be in control and apparently that does something for Rayne.

He put his arm around me and his mouth next to my ear. “Not just my f*ck buddy. You’re also going to be my good girl.”

Lets just say all of their scenes are so hot they make you fan your face and sip some cold water 🤭 They had amazing chemistry and them being friends helped with the awkwardness that they may have felt with one another.

I really like this because they were able to skip the games and get straight to the good stuff and I’m pretty sure this is what made Cade fall for Rayne. She didn’t play games or hide from the truth she faced it head on.

And Cade was what you see is what you get. No pretenses just two people enjoying each other. Cade starts to get possessive and doesn’t even understand what he’s doing  but he knows that he doesn’t want anyone else with Rayne.

With his mouth next to my ear, he said, “And then I would have to spank your ass for taking something of mine home without my permission.”

I leaned back so I could see his face. “I wouldn’t keep your car, you know.” “I wasn’t talking about my car.”

I really like how Rayne knew what she agreed to in the beginning and was determined to stick with it even though she was in love with Cade and vice versa. But they were forced to confront their feelings in the end and led to a super sweet scene.

“And that was the moment I went from falling for Cade to being head over heels in love with him.”

Usually when a book is so focused on sex I find it lacks a story and any real information about the characters, but this author managed to have a very spicy book with a lot about each character and the characters together. And it helped that the back story was that they knew each other for a long time.

This was the first book I read from this author and I absolutely loved it!! I want more of her books! I actually want to read the first book and the next one in this series!

ABOUT THE AUTHORS

R.L. Kenderson is two best friends writing under one name.

Renae always loved reading and in third grade wrote her first poem where she learned she might have a knack for this writing thing. Lara remembers sneaking her grandmother’s Harlequin novels when she was probably too young to be reading them, and since then she knew she wanted to write her own.

When they met in college, they bonded over their love of reading and the TV show Charmed. What really spiced up their friendship was when Lara introduced Renae to romance novels. When they discovered their first vampire romance, they knew there would always be a special place in their hearts for paranormal romance. After being unable to find certain storylines and characteristics they wanted to read about in the hundreds of books they consumed, they decided to write their own.

One lives in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and the other in the Kansas City area where they’re a sonographer/stay-at-home mom/wife and pharmacist/mother by day and a sexy author by night. They communicate through phone, email, and whole lot of messaging.
