MY REVIEW:

Clay has to be one of my favorites! He is so sweet, caring and very much the gentleman. I fell for him from the beginning.

I ate this book up and most of that had to do with how amazing Clay was. And I absolutely loved Clay and Gianna together.

Gianna is so smart, cute, has a unique style that I was really loving from the description, is caring and considerate.

Clay decides to get into a fake relationship with Gianna that is mutually beneficial for both of them.

Gianna finally agrees after all she’s going to get what she wants out of it to right?

I love all the scenes where Gianna and Clay are “faking” at being in a relationship. Clay knows that Gianna is new to all of this so he does his best to ease her into it and make her comfortable.

I think I finished this book in 2 days if not less.

So Clay and Gianna start to “practice” and this is when things really start to get interesting! 

“Do what feels natural, and listen to how I react.” I licked my lips. “You love to study so much, Kitten… study me.”

Ugh the way Clay called her Kitten —- swoon! I also liked how she tried to fight it but it was a losing battle.

“I wanted her. I wanted her so badly my chest had a gaping hole in it whenever I wasn’t with her.”

“I couldn’t eat,” he started, knee still bouncing. “Couldn’t train, couldn’t sleep, couldn’t do anything other than make myself sick thinking about him touching you.”

Things start to get real and Clay starts to question what he’s really feeling and again this made me love him even more. The fact that he was willing to be honest with himself and really work out what he felt. 

“I have thought of nothing and no one but you since that night on the observatory tower.”

“I want you,” he repeated on a raspy breath. “And I don’t want to pretend anymore.”

Omg and can we talk about the dirty talk? This book was definitely up there with the spice level! I loved that he gave her actually what she wanted and she loved every moment of it.

“You don’t want to be someone’s muse,” Clay rasped. “You want to be someone’s undoing. And let me tell you, Kitten…” His voice rumbled against my ear before he sucked the lobe between his teeth. “You’re mine.”

But seriously he read her books to please her? Could Clay be more perfect?

“You read my books,” I breathed, a question and a disbelief all at once.

“Fuck yeah, I did.”

“Why?”

Clay swallowed, brushing his knuckles along the side of my cheek. “I told myself it was to help you get Shawn,” he said. “But in truth, it was to help me please you.”

Gianna loved every moment it. She was so ready to learn and be there for Clay in all the ways that he needed her. I love how she was just there and didn’t push too much when he needed her.

She fit Clay so much better than the ex that he was so obsessed over. And I think Clay started to realize that really quickly.

Clay also fit Gianna way better than her crush. I loved the smart girl with the jock trope too.

Ms. Steiner found a way to pull me in from the very beginning and keep me captivated all the way to the end. I did not want this to end at all!

I knew this book was going to be really good from the snippet I got at the end of Fair Catch, I was so ready for this book. I love love love the fake dating trope. I don’t think I realized how much until I read this book.

And I am so ready for the next one! I can’t wait to get my hands on it.
