MY REVIEW:

Nick was introduced to us in Master No, we didn’t know much about him besides he was now working for Damon and had worked intelligence before that.

Nick was also involved with a character named Des so I never really saw this coming at all.

Nick is so caught up with revenge that it consumes him. He can’t let it go and that cost him precious time with Hayley. And life after walking away from Hayley only got darker and darker and Nick is closed off and cold.

Hayley has been half in love with Nick for the longest time. But she never thought he looked at her like that until one day he does. And they spend an amazing time together only for it to come to an abrupt end. She thought she would have more time with him, but she was mistaken.

“You know it’s you, Nicky. Even when I had a boyfriend, it was always you in the back of my mind. I would close my eyes and see you.”

Now Hayley’s in danger and has no choice but to swallow her pride and ask Nick for help. Nick cant believe she’s back in his life.

He doesn’t think that he deserves her but he is given a chance.

She’ll think you don’t want her and it’ll always be there between you. More to the point, she needs a night where she’s your main priority. Not the case. Not her future safety. Her. Her body. Her mind. Her soul. Give her the peace she needs to get through tomorrow.”

Nick tries to figure out how to get her back, her wraps her in a world of Dominance and submission that she can’t resist while also trying to keep her safe and out of danger

I loved getting to see this side of Nick that is caring and loves a girl. Before all we got was the playboy version with Des and the angry man. This book really shows you a side to Nick that you have never seen before and you also get into his head and see how much self-doubt and regret he has bottled up.

Hayley is a sweetheart and fits right in with the women in McKay-Taggart

Hayley is the perfect heroine for Nick, he’s so dark and tortured and she’s the light that helps him come out of that darkness.

And of course we need some cameos from the other McKay-Taggart bunch. Because it wouldn’t be a Lexi Blake novel otherwise.

“Okay, a Scot, an Aussie, and a Russian walk into a bar,” a sarcastic voice said. Ian Taggart was standing next to Damon, both men already in their leathers. “And?” Damon asked, one dark brow arched over his eyes. “No and. It’s not a joke. It’s just a nightmare of mine,” Taggart admitted. “Too many douchebag accents. What’s wrong with you people? Learn to speak American.”

But I mean it’s Ian, did you expect something else?

This seemed to be a story of redemption for Nick. I’m glad he found his happiness.

WOULD I RECOMMEND:

I would definitely recommend this book it’s another one in a line of amazing books!

Ms. Blake does it again, makes a story that I can’t put down once I start reading it.

She has an amazing talent and of course that always leaving me wanting the next book now, but I digress.
