MY REVIEW:

Can I say I just love Rainie and Jake together. They fit together so well.

Jake is a protector. He cares for the women in his care and gives everything that he can to them. Without really taking  or wanting anything in return.

He thinks that the woman should always be taken care of, especially because she’s the sub.

“Unlike the in-your-face authority of other Doms, Master Jake’s power was a lazy riptide, drawing a submissive under his command before she even realized she’d surrendered.”

Rainie has watched Jake from a far for a long time, but their first kind of interaction didn’t go so well, but it had nothing to do with Jake.

So she’s stayed away from him hoping to never have to face humiliation again. And because of where she’s come from she knows he cant want someone like her.

But when she has no choice and is thrusted into his vet clinic, she cant help but recognize the man he’s become. If she thought she liked him when she was younger she didn’t know anything.

Jake has always thought she was pretty but she’s avoided him like the plague so he’s let her be. But when she walks into his clinic, that changes.

“I usually suggest Sir or Master, but I suppose God is adequately respectful.”

Jake and Rainie are positively electric together.

Jake starts to help Rainie open up and he finally finds out the reason that she’s avoided him. He can’t help but want to fix it.

He also helps her to stand up for herself and not let people judge or walk all over her for no reason. Not under his watch.

Rainie starts to see that maybe Jake could like someone like her with her background.

“A relationship—even a D/s one—is two people growing stronger together than they would apart. Not one tree standing alone with another leaning on it.”

I love that these character grow from being with each other and make each other better.

Ms. Sinclair has a great way of taking characters with flaws and bring them together to help each other be more.

WOULD I RECOMMEND:

I would so recommend this! I loved Rainie and her vulnerability. On the surface she was the tough chick, but under it all she was hurt and just a bit insecure.

And Jake being so sweet and protective, he was the perfect Dom for Rainie, to push her to be more and open up.

“Giving is a two-way street, buddy. Don’t deny you’re submissive the pleasure of being able to help you. Of knowing she’s needed.”

And Rainie was the perfect sub for Jake. She was able to help him and he finally realized it was ok to depend on other people.
