MY REVIEW:
This book was a novella so it was a bit shorter than a usual Lexi Blake book.
I wasn’t introduced to these characters before so I didn’t really know much about them. Actually I think I was very briefly in On Her Masters Secret Service.
Ryan’s a man that lost everything he held near and dear even the woman he really cared for. Unfortunately he thought he was unable to care for her in the way she deserved to be cared for.
Jillian is a woman that was tossed aside by the man that was suppose to take care of her and see to her every need.
Jillian was Ryan’s full-time sub and thought Ryan would be her Dom, yet he decides to put her on someone else without an explanation.
Somehow they end up at the same club together and things start to heat up between after not too long.
Even though they get hot and heavy together there are so many issues to be worked out, since they never communicated before.
Ryan just made the decisions and Jillian had to follow, at least that was the contract they had in place when they were first together.
“You didn’t lose everything. You still had me, but I wasn’t worth much to you, Ryan, was I?”
Jillian is a whole lot tougher now than she was back then and she has way more backbone than she did before.
She is determined to show Ryan that she isn’t that stupid girl she was before to just fall all over him and forget who and what she was.
“Did you tell him you loved him? Sorry, I just vomited a little in my mouth. I hate having to do this.”
And of course in this book we have to get our dose of Ian Taggart, master of sarcasm and snarky comments. I love Ian’s cameos they always always make me laugh.
I love the heart break between these two, you can tell that they really loved each other but mistakes got in the way and they both thought they were doing the right thing.
Ryan wants so desperately to protect and take care of Jillian he forgets to see what she wanted.
Though they are both hurt and too stubborn to work through it, they find a way.

WOULD I RECOMMEND:
I would recommend this book, the only thing I don’t love about novella are that they are too short. I need more! But I digress, this is a great in between read.
The timeline for this book threw me off a little because I had already read Ian’s story. But it is definitely a good read.
